Bengali tribes' New Year celebration:

Sangrai is the name for the New Year celebration of the Marmas and Rakhines tribes in Bangladesh. It is celebrated from April 13th to 15th every year. While it is a major traditional ceremony for the Marmas, the Rakhines also celebrate their own New Year with unique customs. Previously, according to "Mraima Sacramento," these three days corresponded to mid-April in the Gregorian calendar, but now they are observed on April 13th, 14th, and 15th to align with the Gregorian calendar. Traditional Rakhine games are also held on the morning of the 13th, followed by the main Sangrai on the 14th and water activities on the 15th.

Itinerary:

1. First, enjoy the world's longest sea beach (from Cox's Bazar to Teknaf, near Myanmar, spanning 100 km) with hills in the backdrop.

2. After breakfast, participate in the popular "water play" (Panichita) commonly seen among all indigenous people, especially the youth.

3. On the way back, visit temples and observe worship practices. In the morning, after breakfast, move to Rakhain Palli-Rakhain Village to experience     the actual life, culture, and customs of the Rakhain tribe.

4.  In the evening, attend the Rakhine cultural event and stay overnight in a Rakhine house in the village. Cox's Bazar is one of the lands in                  Bangladesh where farmers cultivate salt (sea salt/sodium). In the morning, we visit salt fields and interact with salt farmers/workers.

5.After lunch, fly back to Dhaka.
